I went from the original quadrajet to a Holly and it solved that problem... Are you sure it is not the carb?

Something is wrong with the emissions system.
Remove the wiring from the top of the EGR then unbolt it at the bottom of the EGR system. You may need to replace the gasket after replacing the EGR itself
The 2000 Pontiac Firebird is equipped with a traction control switch on the shifting console. The traction control button can be pushed in and out to turn the system on in off.

It is in the gas tank. You will have to remove the exaust system and drop the tank. Good Luck !
it is indicating your anti lock system is not functioning because of a bad speed sensor or bad module.
You have to lower the rear axle, remove the exhaust system, and drop the tank.

i had a 96 that had the same problem. i would rub a pencil eraser on the computer chip on the key and it would help 90% of the time.
Open the radiator petcock and drain coolant into a container. Dispose of all coolant properly as it is toxic to animals. Close petcock and fill system with water. Run the engine for several minutes with the heat on high. Drain the system again. Several repeats of this procedure will flush the radiator and engine for the Firebird.
