It's lean.
ANOTHER ANSWER:
Or possibly it's valve float.
Try to find an exhaust gas analyzer to see if you're running too lean, if that's not it you may have some valve springs that have become weak.
The valve timing is offAnswersounds like a possible worn camshaft lobe. a fairly common problem on late 70's Chevy small blocks
The most common reason for backfire in an engine is the timing is not set correctly. The bad timing could also be caused by the timing chain beingworn out or a camshaft that is worn out. Get a timing light and check to see what the timing is set to. It should be around 8 to 12 degrees before top dead center at idle(800-1100 RPM) with the distributor's vacuum advance disconnected for most Chevy small blocks. There should be a sticker in the engine compartment that gives the idle speed and timing spec. for that model. If there is not sticker, the spec. above should correct your problem if the parts mentioned are in good condition (not worn out).
under the hood on the fire wall above master cylinder it is a fuel pump relay
multiple cylinder misfire, in cylinders 5,6,7.
At is a preposition that starts with "a". Around, among, about, above, and amid are prepositions that start with "a", as well.
a preposition starts like ( to, from, at, above, below) EX: above the counter
100 lb or above
If it will start it will lope up and down and act like its running outta gas. I had one backfire and barely run above an idle.
