Hey Dave its right by the fuel tank and very easy to change you will need to go to a Ford dealer for the part but you can change it yourself, the only way to re-set the light is by computer that most local garages have they will probally charge you for that..

You cannot bypass or reset the Securilock anti-theft system on a 99 Ford Ranger. If the system begins to malfunction and you can no longer start the vehicle, you will likely need to replace the transponder unit that is located behind the ignition in the steering column.
I'm not a mechanic / technician but I'm guessing a starter relay ( solenoid ) malfunction ( located near your battery ) or a problem with the ignition switch Anybody else have any ides ?
