Here are some suggestions: Turn on the headlights then try to start it. Do they dim a lot? Have the battery load tested first, then take a look at battery cables and connections. Do you hear a click when you turn the key but the headlights stay bright? I would suspect the starter solenoid. On a 1999 you'll probably have to replace the whole starter. No click? Try starting it in neutral instead of park. If this works, it's probably a bad neutral safety switch. If not, it's still possible that it's bad. From there, I would either suspect the ignition switch or the neutral safety switch. It's possible to check for this by jumping from the large cable bolted to the starter solenoid to the small one, but you'll need to know the safe way to do this. Try starting in Neutral. You might have a bad neutral safety switch. You can also try moving the gearshift while you try to start. tryed moving safetyswitch still nothing is it possible its still bad
go to your local garage/mechanic and ask him/her to check the charge in your battery
Check the starter and the solenoid. Make sure that the cables from the battery to the starter are tight and are sending voltage.
3 reasons either the starter is not getting power from the solenoid, solenoid is not getting power from the battery or starter is burned up.
It may not be your battery that is no good. It may be the starter. If it's not turning over then either it could be fried, one of the cables to the starter may be disconnected or one of the wires to the starter is corroded and your getting a short somewhere. My advice is if your vehicule is still under warranty bring it to the dealer if not don't go to Canadian Tire...go to a small town mechanic. But that's what I think
Try getting a jump start. Could be a bad battery. If your battery is good, then you will need to get a new starter. It may be the Starter or the battery make be dead,
Can be a number of things such as a dead battery, damaged starter, broken belt..etc. Ask your local mechanic
The starter could very well be the problem. You should have a mechanic to check the wires leading to the starter first to make sure they are not loose. It could also be the alternator or battery having a charging isue as well. Have a mechanic check the charging system as well.
Do you Know if the battery is charged, if not you can jump it from one car to the next with a pair of cables! if the battery is ok, then its time to check your fuses. Next then the starter solenoid, Most are on top attached to the starter, next call a mechanic!

The most important consideration when purchasing a jump starter is power. How much power is the jump starter getting to the battery? Many manufacturers only offer battery booster packs that have only 900 peak amps and maybe 200 cranking amps.
A mechanic.
Right in front of the oil pan (2.8l) Disconnect the battery before getting a wrench close to the starter. The starter has a HOT battery cable runnign directly to it. Shorting this to the frame with a wrench might start a fire, blow up your battery, or both.
