Simply get it plugged into an ECU reader as it is probably a fault that the ECU is rembering, if not get a manual for your motor and look for an additional sensor.
To add water to the radiator on a new beetle, first remove the lower radiator hose. Then add water to the coolant reservoir.
Need to release air from the radiator, where is the bleeder valve on 1999 VW beetle
Coolant for a 2006 VW Bettle is put into the coolant overflow tank. As it is needed, the radiator will automatically pull in additional coolant.
2000 Volkswagen Beetle L4-1781cc 1.8LFig. 2 Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensorThe engine coolant temperature sensor is installed in the coolant return (arrow), located between the cylinder head and the radiator
A 2001 Volkswagen Beetle only takes a specific type of coolant. When flushing or just topping off the radiator in this vehicle be sure to use G12+ coolant to ensure proper cooling for the vehicles engine.
If there is coolant on the top radiator hose, it may be coming from the hose itself. It may have a hole or cut in it where coolant is spraying out when the car heats up. If there's no hole in the hose, check to see if the clamp needs to be tightened up.
Open the hood and on the drivers side of the engine where the upper coolant hose for the radiator routes to the engine . there is a plastic flange or housing, in that housing the coolnat temp sensor is located .
At the to of the radiator.
A 1967 VW beetle doesn't have a radiator you nit wit, ITS AND AIR COOLED ENGINE!!!!!!!!
that's easy.... you don't... there inst a radiator on a beetle. its called an air cooled engine for a reason.
It is located in the plastic junction of the upper radiator hose to the left of the battery. The sensor is held into the plastic junction with a large horseshoe locking clip.
If it is an air cooled engine then it will not have a radiator cap.
