Not much help to you probably but mine broke last night, I was quite literally standing next to it chatting after a game of football, and we heard a "Bang". after a few seconds of WTF, we noticed the front right coil had slipped off the casing and wedged on, but not in the tyre, The guy in the pickup truck said it was quite common on Mondeo's, my mechanic is looking at it this week....presuiming its going to be expensive.

Something broken in the suspension. Maybe just a worn-out shock absorber, maybe a broken spring.
Defective shock absorber , broken spring
Sounds like you may have broken rear suspension parts. Sway bar or spring may be broken.
Could be the dowel in the spring is broken off or lose u-bolts.
May be a broken spring or support
Tow it, a major attachment for the rear suspension is broken.
An air suspension is a form of vehicle suspension in which compressed air is used as a spring.
I would as it increases your stopping distance - I also have this problem on the front since rear impact on my jeep.
The spring supports the weight of the car and allows the suspension to move over bumps. The shock controls the movement of the spring so it doesn't keep bouncing.
