3rd brake light or rear brake lights?
no
if you 3rd brake light still works it is most likely a fuse. If none of your lights work usually it is the brake light switch located on the top of the brake pedal. Although there could be some odd wiring issue. Chances are it is the switch.
How do i change the 3rd brake light on a mercedes vito van.It is the brake light above the back door?
Dynamite?
I'm not a mechanic / technician but if all ( 3 ) brake lights don't work ( assuming you have a 3rd higher mount brake light and all the bulbs and fuses are fine ) then it would be a problem with your brake light switch ( and also I BELIEVE if all the outside brake lights stay on )
So you're saying that you have a 3rd brake light but nothing at the lower brake lights, and only one of the turn signals work. If that's the case, it's probably the brake light switch in the steering column. Don't touch it!!! The air bag is in the steering wheel, and if you make a mistake and it goes off, it could be very harmful or even fatal. Take it to someone who has experience and training.
Part of Brake Light System NonfunctionalThe fact that the "third" brake light does work tells us that the much of the brake light system is good and thus working. This tells us the fuse is good, the brake light switch is working, and that the wiring to the 3rd light is good. The fact that the 3rd light works and the brake lights at the rear don't work tells us that the specific defect causing your problem is located somewhere BETWEEN where the wires for 3rd light split off from the main harness, and split/fork for the rear brake light assemblies.Although I'm not familiar with your vehicle, that year most, if not all, vehicle brake light systems had the main harness go to one of the rear tail light/brake light assemblies, and then "split" off with the harness continuing to the other tail-brake light. That suggests that the OPEN CIRCUIT condition [your defect] is located in that section of the circuit between where the 3rd light wires split off from the harness, and where the harness splits for the two rear tail-brake light assemblies. We're only talking about roughly 5 to 8 feet of wire/harness here, and that's where to look for something like a disconnected or "loose" connector plug, or a cut wire.
First you buy a good-quality 3rd brake light kit appropriate for the mounting angle on your particular car -- see the links below for examples. If your car's left and right brake lights are separate from the left and right rear turn signals (different bulbs for the brake lights and turn signals), then you just follow the instructions with the kit. If your car has combination brake/turn lights (the same red light burns steadily for brake light or flashes for turn signal) then you must run a new wire from the brake light switch to the rear of the car to feed the new 3rd brake light -- cars with combination brake/turn lights route power from the brake light switch through the turn signal switch and then from there to the back of the car; if you try to get away without running the new wire, the 3rd brake light won't work properly and you'll backfeed other lighting circuits with random results.

You can also try ebay. I just purchased the 3rd brake light for my 2004 Yukon and saved $50 over the dealer for a new 3rd brake light. You can try at an auto salvage yard.
Is the bulb out on the 3rd Brake Light? Check bulb, harness attachment and wiring. Most likely its the bulb. See sources and related links below for bulb information.
