You can reset the theft system in your 1994 Cadillac Deville by putting the key into the ignition. Turn the ignition to the auxiliary position, without starting the engine. Leave it in this position for 30 seconds.

Perform the following steps in order. 1. Turn on ignition without starting and wait 7 secs then turn to acc position and wait 4 secs. 2. Turn on ignition without starting and wait 7 secs then turn to acc position and wait 4 secs. 3. Turn on ignition without starting and wait 7 secs then turn to acc position and wait 4 secs. 4.Turn on ignition without starting and wait 7 secs then turn to acc position and wait 3 secs. 5. Turn on ignition without starting and wait 7 secs then turn to acc position and wait 2 secs. 6. Start car and wait 3 secs then turn off wait 3 secs and start car. Took me 2 tries as I was not getting the timing right...but it worked.
Things to check are: ignition switch, manual lever position switch, ignition relay, your starter, and last, your battery. Check all wires, cables and connections for condition and cleanliness.

When the key is in the "start" position all accesssories are designed to be "locked out" to concentrate all the available power to the starting circuit. How about the "on" position - do accessories have power at that position? - if not could be a bad ignition switch

The distance between the final position and the starting position is the
