The fish has mouth fungus. If you add 1 teaspoon of aquarium salt per gallon of water and follow the basic rules below the fish may come good. Once the salt has healed its mouth simply stop replacing it with each weekly water change. The basic rules for successfull fishkeeping are as follows. :- 1 inch (2.25cm) of fish needs at least 1 gallon (3.78ltrs) of water. Every tank needs a permanently running cycled filter. :- Every tank needs at least 50% of its water replaced every week. If you follow the above rules, feed the fish the correct diet and keep the container covered and at 78F a Betta will do OK. I can guarantee that if you don't keep the preceeding rules that your fish will have constant health problems and will live a considerably shorter life.
Yes, females can be just as agressive, if not more aggressive, than the males. Although you should never keep the two bettas together, it has happened when breeding the fish.
There are a couple of things that could happen if your betta has a bump on it's chin. It could have a growth that is not normal.
You should feed your betta 3-4 times a week.

Any fish fry are nutritious to all carnivorous or omnivorous species. Why should Betta fry be different?

If you want an active fish that moves around a lot then a Betta is not for you.
You should not put a male betta with goldfish's.They are aggressive and will fight with goldfish's goldfish give off ammonia and will kill the Betta's.
Well, if you love your Betta fish, then it should live by itself. But if you add another Betta to your current Betta fish's tank, then they will start a fight because Betta Fish are Siamese fighting fish and if one Betta is in contact of another Betta, the possible reason would be a fight between them two.
