Locking axles was not a factory option. Limited slip rear axle was an option. many aftermarket options are available.
Have to go into body computer with DRB3 to disable horn honk when locking vehicle.
That is a programmable setting. If it isn't listed in the owners manual, the dealer can set it with their scan tool.
I have a 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee limited AWD. I have 2 keyfobs for the central locking. Both fobs will always lock the car, but will not always open the car! If your in luck it will open first time, but if not you have to press the unlock button 10-20 times to unlock it. Then after that it will be fine again. Is there a way of resetting the system? Any help will be greatly received Jim

the steering column tilt and telescoping lock does not keep wheel in place. How do I fix this ?
You require the 4 digit code from the dealership. You will need to enter this via the steering wheel stork or central locking button dependant on the model.
With an emergency locking mechanism
I believe you have to take it to a Jeep dealership & they can program it. If you keep pressing the unlock button on your key fob (about four times) it will start chirping. The same for locking.
The locking mechanism is so the chord doesn't get detached if you move around a lot and accidentally pull on the chord. But you will have to screw in the locking chord. The non locking looks better.
The locking mechanism.
Try turning the steering wheel hard before and while turning the key.

Yes, there are locking rear ends available from many after market sources.
A little more info would help.m Do you have tension on the handle? Does the window open. Was there signs of corrosion on the locking mechanism? I would try removing the interior panel to see if you can move the locking mechanism w/ a screw driver. A little more info would help Do you have tension on the handle? Does the window open.
