your dog is very sick and i suggest u take him to the vet immediately
The WHY is because they cannot metabolize the theobromine compounds. Which occur in chocolate. But not only dogs, cats, horses, birds, and voles are also susceptible, but it is uncommon for cats because they do not taste sweet things and are not attracted. Dogs on the other hand are opportunistic eaters - scavengers may not be too strong. Some trials have been made to use chocolate, or at least theobromine, as a poison for wild dogs in the rangelands of the USA. The Merck Veterinary Manual is worth a crack.
Chocolate is sweet, sweet, goodness.
It really depends on the weight of your dog or puppy, and the kind of Chocolate, and the amount the dog ate. No amount of Chocolate is good for a dog to eat. Dark chocolate and baking chocolate are most dangerous to dogs, milk and white chocolate pose a much less serious risk. 20 ounces of milk chocolate, 10 ounces of semi-sweet chocolate, and just 2.25 ounces of baking Chocolate could potentially kill a 22-pound dog. Unsweetened baking chocolate contains about 390 milligrams of Theobromine per ounce (the substance in Chocolate that's toxic to dogs), that about 10 times more than milk Chocolate and more than twice as much as semi-sweet Chocolate. White Chocolate contains very little Theobromine. Serious toxic reactions can happen if your dog eats of about 100 to 150 milligrams of Theobromine per kilogram of body weight. If you think your dog ate Chocolate, call your vet's office, or call animal poison control. You need to get help before your dog shows symptoms of diarrhea, vomiting, hyperactivity, muscle tremors, restlessness and rapid heartbeat.
Chocolate can be fatal to cats and dogs, for them chocolate is toxic. The theobromine in chocolate is what causes them harm, they can easily be poisoned. The first signs of theobromine poisoning are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and increased urination. These can progress to, epeleptic seizures, internal bleeding, heart attacks, and eventually death.
Yes, the theobromine in chocolate is extremely toxic to dogs and can cause fatal heart arrhythmias as well as liver damage. The larger the dog and the smaller the amount of chocolate, the less likely your dog is to die from eating chocolate, although it doesn't take much chocolate to kill even a Great Dane. Also, there are toxicity differences between the different types of chocolate: milk chocolate has slightly less risk than semi-sweet baking chocolate or dark chocolate.
sweet
There isn't much of a difference but semi sweet is less likely to burn and is not as sweet as milk chocolate. Hope this helps!
Milk chocolate has a sweet taste. Dark chocolate has a very bitter taste. Sugar causes chocolate to become sweet.
Sweet Like Chocolate was created on 1999-05-21.
The word is fudge.
Chocolate in its raw form, cocoa, is not sweet, however, processes chocolate; candy bars, hot chocolate mixes, chocolate milk, contains high sugar content.
because they are not allergic to it (unless yours happens to be..you can get an allergy test done) and there's no ingredients in peanut butter that dogs cannot digest; whereas with chocolate, they cant eat it because they cant digest theobromine
