Our dog is a 7 year old spayed Labrador She developed a lump about an inch below her right eye which gets larger or smaller on a daily basis.
she has had it about 4 months. Our local vet just says to keep an eye on it.
Also, she has become lethargic and we don't know if this is related or coincidental. she used to greet my husband daily when he came home but now often 'can't be bothered'.
Maybe a tumor, not good!!
Its best to get any lumps aspirated at the vet to be on the safe side.
A soft, non-painful lump in a dog's neck could be a lipoma, or fatty tumor. It can also be a cyst that a veterinarian can drain.
Take your dog to the vet. Lumps are never good on any part of the body.
Surgical intervention (removal of tumor if possible) or conservative treatment (pain management) If your dog has a rectal tumor you need to consult your local vet.
If the lumps are under the skin, it could be fatty tissue or a tumor, keep a close eye on it and if it changes consult a vet. If they are on the skin they could be warts, a rash, bug bites. without knowing more about them I could not say. Keep an eye on them and again if they change you should consult a vet
Take the dog to the Vet...
tumor
Cysts should be evaluated by a vet. What you might consider to be a cyst may, in fact, be a malignancy or even a parasite. If it is a cyst, the vet can drain it and pack the wound and relieve you and the dog of a lot of pain and worry.
Chances are, the lung tumor is actually causing your dogs cough. If your dog has gotten a secondary illness due to the tumor, or the tumor is damaging the lung tissue more, then you need to consult your veterinarian about the best way to proceed. At the very least, they can prescribe medications that will make your dog more comfortable. I wish you the best of luck.
There is no average life expectancy for a dog with a tumor in the fore brain. The length of remaining life is determined by the size of the tumor, how aggressive the tumor is, and when the tumor is diagnosed.
That dog really, really needs to see a vet ASAP.
