The most likely culprit for a do-nothing parking brake is a misadjusted cable. Generally there is an nut that can be used for adjustment at the rear of the vehicle that will allow you to tighten or loosen the parking brake cable.

More than likely the float is bad on the fuel pump, so i would recommend that you change the fuel pump.

put in reverse and go about 5 then slam it into drive and gas it to the floor or u can use the ebrake and go half way so you dont burn out the transmission and make sure that your ebrake is fully tightened other wise it wont work
yes, a 3.4 is a 3.4, you might have to swap the fuel injection unit on top of the engine to the alero's set-up so the alero's computer will work right.

Your keyless remote might not work for your 2002 Chevy Tahoe because the battery in the remote is dead. You can replace this battery by prying the remote cover off of the back of the remote or by removing the screws holding the cover closed.
you are either low on brake fluid, the Ebrake switch is on or you have air in your brake lines. try lifting the ebrake and see if the light gets brighter. If it does, try unpluging the wire that goes to the brake master cylinder. If this don't work then i recomend taking it to a shop to have it looked at! Good Luck...
