Treatment for ich is fairly simple and you can use a number of different chemicals, but the most common three are copper sulfate, malachite green and bromthymol blue. Each has its own dosage instructions, and using all three together is also highly effective. Simply read the instructions that come with any of these products, and it should treat the ich.

White spots have a number of causes. Large white patches are either fungus or columnaris. If they are growing on dead skin (ie an old injury) they are caused by fungus. Treat with an antifungal remedy. If they are not, it's probably columnaris. Treat with antibiotics. Small white spots that look like grains of salt stuck to the fish are ich. Buy a remedy for ich, ichthiopthilius (sp) or whitespot, different names for the same parasite. You can also treat ich with high temperatures and salt. No you will need to treat the aquarium the fish is in rather than the fish. Ich is a microscopic protozoan that will now be in the environment the fish is in and it will eventually infect (attack) all the inhabitants of the aquarium if not treated.

IT will later inflame the gills thus, the fish will not be able to breath. Your fish will almost die instantly. If your fish have had Ich for a long time and it spreads, your fish will most likely not be curable because, your fish will have little to no blood left in the body.
