You should have a guidance counselor at school that you could tell about it. They should keep your name out of it and they should report it to Child Protective Services. Should is the key word. They may do nothing, Child Services may do nothing, you have no way of knowing. About all you can do is talk to your friend, tell him of your concern and if it is true, he can go to Child Protective Services himself. You can't because they probably wouldn't believe you. That's just the way the system and most of the people in it are.

I don't think it was any less stressful then, then it is now. We all have stressful things going on in our lives. Maybe the economy wasn't as bad but there are still a number of things that happened back then that cause stressed just as they do now.
