Have had this on my Toyota. Internally on the speedometer there are a set of gears that are lubricated with grease. They dry out over time and loose the lubrication causing a click. Mine was time consuming t get out but easy enough to do. I gained access to the gears thru a hole and sprayed in a Teflon lube. FIxed the problem nicely.

Lifter noise is not uncommon.
well it sounds like your lifters are ticking The connecting rods screaming LET ME OUT!!!
ticking over and getting a new no. like do the clock or some type of speedometer...
98 Chevy new 383 block 30k, ticking noise from sounds like heads . 210k on heads;
Usually it's the lifters in the engine making that noise until they become fully pressurized with oil, then they stop ticking, like on the 3 liter caravans.
Fuel injectors can stick and sound like lifters but not as loud. Lifters of course. The speed of the ticking would help, one or two cylindars or all of them? A spark jumping, but there should be some loss of performance.
cv joint problem.
Well if its sort of like a scratchy noise coming from the engine you might want to get your transmission checked out
Sounds to me like HOT exhaust cooling down.
i was told by a Chevy serviceman that the ticking noise was coming from the fuel injectors firing.but to me it sounded more like lifters tapping or floating.
When they don't feel like making noise and at night.
Probably sticky lifters, go to the parts store and get a product that frees sticky lifters and change the oil and filter and add the product to the oil and see if it frees them up.
