What is it like to work with Patti Stanger on BRAVO's "Millionaire Matchmaker"?

Working for Patti Stanger requires an exceptional level of discipline and work ethic. You must always be on your toes and thinking 10 steps ahead. What I learn from Patti on a daily basis is invaluable. I soak it up like a sponge and do my best to apply the lessons.

What are your top three tips for singles that are trying to meet "the one"?

The first tip I have for trying to meet the one is to meet your true self. Take the time to reflect on where you are in your life at the moment, including dreams, priorities and concerns. Be honest with yourself so that you can be matched with a compatible partner. Second tip is to be what you want. If you want someone who focuses on their physical and spiritual health, you should begin doing the same. If you want someone who gives back to his or her community, begin volunteering. Finally, don't be afraid to make it known that you want love and you are ready for it! Closed mouths don't get fed ;)

What matchmaking success story are you most proud of?

I am most proud of a couple I matched almost decade ago in Chicago, Stephen and Ceta Walters. They have been happily married 8 years now and have two beautiful, amazing sons! I am most proud of this couple because of how much they grew as individuals as well as a couple to create the beautiful life they both always dreamed of.

You recently starred in the film "My Father, Die" as Nana, the heroine of the gritty action-thriller. Why is "My Father, Die" refreshing and unique as a film?

Thank you for this question! This film is refreshing and unique because of Sean Brosnan, his vision and every single person who contributed to the project. It is an honor to be a part of a passion project that inspires one to step outside of their comfort zone and push boundaries. Working with both Joe Anderson and Gary Stretch was inspiring as well. Every actor and member of the crew gave blood, sweat and tears. I believe this will be apparent.

Can you tell us more about your character Nana and her role in the movie?

I adore Nana and hold her close to my heart. I believe human experiences unite people from all walks of life. Sean Brosnan created a character I could relate to in so many respects that at times it was eerie for me quite honestly. Sean and I come from completely different worlds, yet we vibed very well with who Nana is. Honestly, I've always had Nana in me and this film awakened the beast if you will. She is unlike any character I have ever had the opportunity to portray.

In 2013, you were a part of the independent film "Gimme Shelter" alongside Vanessa Hudgens and Rosario Dawson. What was the dynamic like on set?

Yes, I played Marie Abeanni, a social worker of African descent. It took weeks for me to perfect my accent in the scene. Although the scene is a pivotal, emotional scene with Rosario and Vanessa, the dynamic on set was collaborative and considerate. Rosario was beyond gracious and gave me so much from one actor to another. She couldn't be any more kind, humble and inspiring.

How do you go about selecting films to audition for?

I appreciate that I have had the opportunity to do both comedy and drama. Opportunities for comedy came easier because of the "cute girl next-door" role. My more recent dramas, End of Watch, Gimme Shelter and My Father, Die have been both challenging and fulfilling. I enjoy stretching myself creatively and surprising fans. The role of Nana in My Father, Die is so unexpected for me based on my current body of work, which is why I wanted it. I want to continue surprising everyone including myself.

How does your passion for comedy infiltrate your everyday life?

Finding the humor in even tragedy has always been a coping mechanism for me. I do my absolute best to laugh every single day and usually at myself. This allows me to keep everything in perspective when things get a little stressful on set. I am known for being the set clown!

What is your go-to stand-up comedy joke that you know will make people laugh?

My best comedy comes from my real life experiences. My go-to jokes usually center on my move to Hollywood and experiences in the industry including but not limited to auditioning for Music Videos, the casting couch and side jobs. I love that my truth tickles people.

Recently, you switched gears to the production side of the entertainment industry. How is working as a producer different from working as an actor? Which do you prefer?

Production was a natural fit for me because of my neurotic, lawyer side that loves to see an overall project, delegate and implement. Then my creative side gets an opportunity to run wild within those confines. Producing is the best of both worlds and great fit for me. I'm excited to continue building my credits and hope to produce a project I star in as well.
