With all the various gadgets and electronic devices related to watching television and movies, it is easy for an entertainment center to become an overwhelming, cluttered mess. Fortunately, some items like a DVD/VCR combo unit can help eliminate the clutter while meeting multiple needs.

While VCRs and VHS tapes are in great decline, many people still have large libraries of this medium and it simply does not make financial sense to try to replace all the VHS tapes with newer DVDs. The cost of upgrading a home library can quickly become astronomical and with the limited availability of some titles, a total media library upgrade can be nearly impossible to accomplish anyways. A VCR/DVD combo allows consumers to keep and use their current VHS tapes while playing newer titles purchased on DVD at the same time. This allows consumers to retain their current VHS selection while being able to enjoy DVDs as well. DVDs are well known for the extra content and special features they contain, and that most VHS tapes do not. Instead of missing out on these exciting new features due to subpar technology, combo owners get the best of both worlds.

By combining both a DVD player and a traditional VCR, these devices also offer exceptional space savings in an entertainment center- a place where shelf space is always at a premium. Aside from the space savings on the shelf, by combining the two products, there is also need for one less remote control to work the devices with. With the same remote controlling both VCR and DVD functionality, there are fewer remotes cluttering up space as well.

A combo VCR/DVD player is a sound investment for any Home Theater, large or small. This device allows consumers to keep their current media library, while also allowing them to expand using new technology. Not only are combo DVD/VCRs a space saver, but they are also a major cost saver as well.

What kind of stores can you buy dvdvcr?

If you are just looking for a DVD and VHS player. Then Walmart would be your best bet. They've gone down a lot in price and Walmart is always a good place to look for electronics.

I have cable tv but I bought a dvdvcr combo and now I am told I have to have a cable or satellite box connected to it so it will work?

You can run your cable to you DVD/VCR as to have everything hooked up and be able to record if you like from you cable - it is just easier to have everything hooked up. It doesn't have to be on when you are not using it as there are buttons for TV/VCR/DVD etc.

How do you connect a dvdvcr combo to a DirectT DVR box?

Connect a coaxial cable to the "out to TV" input on the back of your DVR, and then hook up the other end to your TV's "RF In" input. For slightly better picture quality, you can connect composite or S-Video cables from the back of your DVR to the DVD VCR Combo. Newer models have two audio and video connections. Hope this helps and good luck!
