There are some tried and true exercises that anyone can do when they want to lose weight. These exercises are not that difficult to do, nor are they complex. They are intended to be done in larger repetitions than other exercises, so they are great for beginners who just want to start out with a few simple exercises. These two great exercises are pushups and situps. Both of them can be altered with little changes to make them more challenging, and therefore more rewarding.

With pushups, the form is pretty simple. You get down on your hands and knees, place your palms flat on the ground at a shoulder-width spacing, bring your knees up to put your body in a flat position, drop down toward the ground, and then finally push yourself back up. If you want to make this more difficult, you can place your hands wider, or closer together to isolate certain muscle groups.

Situps are a little simpler, but there are many ways to do them. The simple situp is to lay flat on the ground with your hands at your sides, sit up, touch your knees, and then lay back down on the ground. You can change up this exercise by putting your feet up on a chair and sitting up until your knees touch your elbows. You can also lay flat and raise your legs while doing the situp until your knees touch your elbows.

Exercising is supposed to be a challenge, but that doesn't mean that you have to start out with crazy exercises. However, it is important to recognize that regular exercise is an essential part of the weight loss process.
