To change the battery in the Mini Cooper keyless remote, it is necessary to first open the device. This can be done by removing the key chain and gently prying the seam at the opening end apart. Now the battery is accessible for easy replacement.
Split the remote open at the key fob loop.
You don't! I tried using a screwdriver to pry open the remote. The remote must be taken to a dealer and they change it. I was shocked when I found out, but it was fairly painless to have them do it.
You can if the key has a door lock/unlock button. I lock mine all the time with the remote. If you have the button on the key and it is not working then maybe the battery in the remote is dead? Open it up and replace the battery.
Open it up and see what battery it takes.
use a hammer..:)
Very carefully pry open the remote. I took mine to " Batteries Plus" and the guy was only to happy to open it and install the new battery. He had a little special gadget.
In the remote on your key chain, Yes. Just remove the key ring from the remote, and use a dime to 'jimmy' the case apart. I'm not sure what size battery, just buy one that matches after you get it open. Note: It should say that in the manual (It's where I got the info).
change the battery in the remote you can test your remote at auto zone for free
Change battery at official dealer.
There's a signal transmitter inside the key which needs power. Change the battery.
