These days and times we live in are bringing a harsh attack on the rhetoric and principles found in the Constitution of the United States of America. This a republic that we pledge to stand with, and yet so many people neglect some of the strongest common threads throughout the document. Civil Rights attorneys are busy with defending and finding loopholes, discovering and interpreting the meanings of the sentences that have stood on a foundation of God Almighty since its inception in 1787. And those were the words of the writers of the Constitution – God Almighty.

That leads us to our first and most obvious proving of God in the Constitution. Whether you briefly scan or you fully read every sentence of the document, you are sure to find a God-rich text that doesn’t attribute our human state of being alive to anyone else. Even a fool can’t deny the existence of these words.

However, our next stop is the way of interpretation, which of course leads many an attorney to The Bible, to speech and debate techniques, to biographies of the writers, to philosophies of government, theologies of government, and general reflection on the way each of these careful precepts has played out in our history and the ramifications of every dispute along the way.

Then there is the logic inherent in the existence of a government. There must be a standard by which these precepts are built – but whose? Each person’s standard being law soon becomes chaos. What standard did our government choose to build upon? While freedom of religion is widely practiced and unhindered in the US, there is a slow undercurrent that is attempting to suck away the true foundation of this country. When a house is in a state of disrepair, the most damaging elements can come from a cracking foundation. It’s no different with a government – the fight will continue as long as everyone can hold their own standard as law.

Courts are not lacking for cases where people feel their rights have been infringed upon, and they seek damages and removal of every supposed offending object. But where in the statutes of any government does a removal of the structure reinforce the structure? It doesn’t, and this is where the challenge of a civil right advocate lies. The burden of proof is on them to show the power of God in the foundation of our society. Only then can a true turning around be made, in which people’s hearts are ready to head for truth.
