Human Resource Professionals predict that Cna Jobs will increase in the next 10 years by as much as 20%. Baby boomers are retiring in record numbers, and the age expectancy has increased significantly over the past few decades. Thus, there is a huge population of elderly adults flooding the health care system. Cna Jobs are available in different environments. Hospitals, nursing homes, home health care, and assisted living facilities all hire these professionals.

This job involves extensive patient care. A Cna will assist with baths, meals, doctor appointments, medications, and many other everyday tasks. Also, the Cna is skilled in taking vitals.

Due to the huge increase in demand for Cna professionals, colleges and junior colleges are preparing students for Cna jobs. Most programs are 6 months and will result in the issuance of a certificate. The training will thoroughly prepare a student to go directly into a position as a Cna. Many experienced Cnas go on to obtain a degree in nursing. Others are content to progress in this career field.

Furthermore, working as a Cna requires patience. The successful Cna will also be able to lift and carry adults. Oftentimes, the Cna will not have any assistance bathing a patient. Thus, stamina and strength are very important. Cna jobs also require the person to be able to handle strong odors and sights. Medical care can be messy, and the Cna must be prepared to deal with unpleasant situations. Most importantly, the Cna must be able to work well with people. Most people that find themselves in need of a Cna do not want to be dependent, but the Cna must make the patient feel secure and safe with the care that they are receiving. A patient and Cna may have long standing relationships, so effective interpersonal skills will help the Cna be more successful.

In conclusion, the medical field offers a certain degree of security. Health care is one of the career fields that is resilient in tough economic times. This feature is very attractive to those who seek a good, stable career. Also, there is a great amount of satisfaction for some people when they can help someone else.
