In addition to that, most schools require that you pass a physical fitness test. They want teachers that will be able to set a good example. Therefore, you will not have only gained more scientific knowledge than the average individual, but you also will be in better shape. The benefits don’t end there.
When you have a physical education degree, you have many options in where you would like to go from there. One popular option is to get a Master’s Degree in Education. The reason a lot of people do this is just in case a district cuts their physical education program or if there are not any physical education spots in their area, they will have something to fall back on. Keep in mind, there are much fewer physical education teachers than classroom teachers, which means there are fewer jobs available. This makes it very important to have a backup plan.
Another option you have when you hold a physical education degree is to become a fitness trainer. This is a popular route because it pays well and you will have an opportunity to set your own hours. There is also a lot of demand. Yet another benefit is that if you’re going to become a fitness trainer, you’re going to have to stay fit. This leads to more motivation when it comes to exercise and an overall better understanding of health. This, in turn, leads you to become a healthier individual.
If you hold a physical education degree, you can land a job in any type of after school program. This could be at the Boys & Girls Club of America, the YMCA, or any other independent after school program. Also keep in mind that you can get a job as a group leader at a summer camp over the summer. This kind of job can land you an extra $4,000 to $8,000.
