Housing costs are higher right now than they have been at any time in human history, and many seniors would rather use their money for travel and leisure purposes than pay inflated household living costs. RVs serve a duel purpose: They provide a comfortable way to live and a convenient way to travel. Those who choose this lifestyle can spend winters in warm parts of the country and summer anywhere they like. Many people would rather get RV financing and live their lives on the road than be saddled with monthly mortgage obligations and the other hefty costs involved in home ownership.

Seniors and others with RVs can also choose from a variety of accommodations while traveling the nation's highways in their RVs. Some RV parks have luxurious amenities such as onsite spas, Swimming Pools, restaurants, manicured grounds, wireless internet and indoor recreation centers. Others are simply flat spaces carved out in the woods that don't even offer access to electricity but do offer a substantial amount of tranquility.

Senior citizens aren't the only ones opting for an alternative lifestyle on the road. Younger people are also purchasing RVs for the purpose of making their vehicles their primary homes. This works especially well for seasonal employees of resorts in remote areas such as Alaska. Many people drive their RVs to Alaska to work during the summer tourist season and then head south to work in sunny parts of the country. This can be an excellent way of life for those who don't have children or other obligations that require them to lead a more settled lifestyle. No matter what their age or situation in life, most people who live this lifestyle claim that they would not be happy living any other way.
