Most Americans now know that animal products high in saturated fat can raise cholesterol, but there are also foods that can significantly lower cholesterol and improve general health. Those concerned about their cholesterol should work toward adding fiber-rich foods to their daily meals, in addition to cutting cholesterol consumption. Foods that are proven to lower cholesterol include: beans, oats, Prunes, nuts, and fish.
