Mexicali is the capital city of Baja, Mexico. It is a city that relies very heavily on it’s tourism industry to generate revenue. This is because visitors are able to easily enter the city on foot from the United states city of Calexico.
The draw for tourists is largely derived from the town’s many taco stands, bars, dance clubs, and pharmacies. The area close to the country’s border with the United States of America also includes a wide variety of souvenirs and Mexican crafts that hold great appeal to many of the visitors. The cheaper dental and medical procedures also draw many Americans to Mexicali. High school and college kids are particularly found of the city due to Mexico’s lower drinking age. People need only be eighteen or older to wet their whistles in Mexico.
With a Chinese population of over five thousand people, Mexicali has it’s own Chinatown. This is an interesting place to visit for people who are fond of consuming both Mexican and Chinese food. This is because the Chinese chefs have adapted to the area and offer an interesting fusion of Mexican and Chinese cuisines.
