The Inn at Cedar Falls was founded more than twenty years ago by Ann Castle, a businesswoman who wanted to create a wilderness retreat for city dwellers. Ann's daughter, Ellen Grinsfelder, now runs the inn with her husband, Terry Lingo. Terry helped to build many of the log cabins and cottages now used to house visitors. Ellen decorated the inn's guest rooms with antique furnishings and old-fashioned charm.
The bed and breakfast is surrounded on three sides by Hocking Hills State Park in southeastern Ohio. At Hocking Hills, visitors can see deep gorges, dark caves, rocky cliffs and pristine lakes. There are plentiful recreational opportunities for nature-lovers, including hiking, fishing and canoeing. Tourist attractions like Old Man's Cave, Lake Logan and Rock Bridge Natural Preserve all are located nearby.
For some guests, the inn's tranquil setting is the most appealing local attraction. Gourmet meals, made from scratch, are served in a dining room in an 1840s-vintage cabin.
