And it's been kept a secret from you on purpose or intentionally. The pay tv companies didn't want a mass disconnect. It's like the previous lady said, we don't need all the gobs of (stupid dumbing down) ridiculous tv that they serve up. It's all too much and it's literally junk tv - brain rot really. The pay companies are banking on us choosing quantity over quality. Remember when in the beginning how they promised that pay tv was going to be commercial free? They are greedy fat liars. Who wants to be a slave to these liars? I'm lucky to have been able to figure out that a very specific roof antenna gets the best reception and the most possible channels that are out there in the air. Write back if you want to know the name. If it works for me, it'll work for you. All antennas are not created equally either. Which is why most gave up because it became a major project to convert to OTA (over-the-air) antenna tv. I have nothing to gain by telling you this information either. I am just lucky enough to live with someone who knows about wire and how airwave frequencies work. I'm sure you don't appreciate being scammed any more than the next person but that's exactly what happened. They only told you a small piece of the story. In fact, they flatly lied, telling everyone who was currently paying to do nothing - that they wouldn't be effected by the change to digital. Where I live everyone pays because there was very poor reception with those of us using antennas being lucky to get fuzzy snow reception and only 3 channels. So stop being a slave to pay tv and break free.

analogue, since it doesn't use electronics

Which is faster an analog computer or a digital computer?

built with the same level of technology, analog computers are always faster but less accurate than digital computers. however as little significant work on analog computers has been done since the 1980s, they currently significantly lag behind digital computers in speed.

How come my tv hasn't been workin since febury?

In the United States, broadcasters started broadcasting in the digital format and turning off the old analog transmitters. Many changed channels. Old analog TV can not receive the new digital signals.

Is a LCD TV digitalized?

Originally, LCD sets were a combination of analog and digital components. Now, they're more digital oriented bu still contain an analog tuner section for the soon to be defunct NTSC television system. In the future, we'll eventually be 100 percent digital, but manufacturers will probably continue to have some type of analog inputs for your new TV's for awhile, while people still have analog DVD players, VCR's and the like.

What are the Advantages of analog and digital communications?

Disadvantage of Analog Communication: 1)Analog Communication systems are costlier than digital communication system. 2)Less Security in Analog Communication 3)More prone to noise interference. Advantage of Analog Communication: 1)Transmission bandwidth required is less. 2)No need of synchronization. Advantage of Digital Communication: 1)Digital Communication systems are simpler and cheaper. 2)Using data encryption only permitted user are allowed to detect the transmitted data. 3)Since in Digital Communication, channel coding is used, therefore a large amount of errors may be detected 4)Since transmitted signal is digital in nature, large amount of noise tolerance may be tolerated Disadvantage of Digital Communication: 1)More transmission bandwidth required. 2)Digital Communication needs synchronization in case of synchronous modulation.

If you have an analog tv with a set top digital converter box will you be able to receive basic cable without a cable box?

Depends if your cable company is sending anything in analog to the box. Since every thing's converting to digital, chances are there may be a few remaining channels in analog still in basic, but those will be gone by February 17, 2009.

What device works with continuous data?

Continuously varying data is analog data; by contrast, all digital data is discrete (there are steps between one value and the nearest next possible value). Devices operating on analog data, in context with computers, are primarily analog-to-digital converters (ADC). These take an analog input, sample this value periodically, and produce the nearest corresponding digital value for further (digital) processing. The analog input can describe a lot of different aspects: the fan speed, a temperature, an electric voltage read from a microphone or other audio input, etc. The reverse process is called digital-to-analog conversion (DAC), which converts a digital value into a corresponding analog value (typically as an electric voltage or current), which is then generally transformed into another form, such as an audio output to drive a pair of speakers. It is important to note that DAC itself does not operate continuously varying data, since the analog data generated follows the same discrete steps as the digital input data does. However, subject to the physics of the following conversion (e.g. a loudspeaker), the resulting physical signal might well be truly analog again (e.g. the variation in air pressure caused by the speaker).

Why are digital computers popular?

Well it is kind of simple really but digital has better graphics and says to run faster. The reason is simple: ease of programmingDigital computers can be programmed by writing code, which can be reloaded at any time.Analog computers usually have to be "taken apart and rewired" to be programmed. In fact, when built with the same technology, Analog computers are always faster than Digital computers at solving the same problem. However Analog computers have not been built since the 1980s (and then only for special purposes) so Analog computing technology now lags Digital computing technology by several decades.

Is a news paper considered an analog medium?

Yes, a newspaper is considered an analog medium since it is a physical form of print media that can be held and read. It is contrasted with digital media, which is accessed electronically through devices like computers or smartphones.

What is analog time?

I thank that antalog time is the time on a analog clock, It makes since analog time on a analog clock.

Can depletion mosfet act as enhancement mosfet?

It depends. A depletion MOSFET can be used as an ehancemnet MOSFET when it is operated as an analog amplifier. However, a depletion MOSFET can't replace an enhancement MOSFET when it is operated as a digital switch. When a depletion MOSFET is used as a digital switch, since the junction between source terminal and substrate must be reverse biased, the voltage of the source terminal of an N typde transistor must be tied to Vdd, and it is completely opposite to an enhancement MOSFET. When a depletion MOSFET is used as an analog amplifer, the source terminal and the substrate are both at the same potential, just like an enhancement MOSFET.

What is the diff between analog ground and digital ground?

Typically digital circuits will pump a lot of fast transient currents into the ground. Since real grounds have resistance and inductance, this will produce a drop between the ground of the digital circuits and the power supply ground. This is the so called "ground bounce". If an analog circuit ground shares ground path between the digital ground and the power supply ground, it will see this voltage drop. Depending on the common mode rejection of the analog circuit in question and the frequency components in the "ground bounce" this may or my not be an issue. If it's an issue, the easy solution is to connect the analog ground directly to the power supply ground without sharing any of the path from digital ground to main power supply ground. This way the current spike induced drops in the digital ground don't show up in the analog ground. A good example would be ADC grounding for the digital and analog portions of the ADC chip.
