ihmael is the son of the woman that abraham really loved
Ishmael was his son from Hagar, and Isaac was his son from his wife, Sarah.
Abraham had only one son Isaac from saran and one son Ishmael from Hager.
in a nutshell. Abraham had two sons, Isaac and ishmael. ishmael was the older of the two whom Abraham had with his bondservent, this is not what God intended. thus Abraham had another son with his wife fufilling Gods promise. as they became older ishmael and his mother left abrahams camp and pursued there own way of doing things. Muslims followed the ways of ishmael and christians followed the wats of isaac. this is why there are so many things that appear to be the same between Muslims and christians, but believe me there are many similarities the few differences are drastic.
Ishmael is the son of Abraham and Hagar, Sarah's maidservant. He also had to live in a desert with his mother because Sarah didn't want them to be with them especially after she just conceived her own son, Isaac.
Hagar is the mother of Ishmael. Abraham took Hagar as a second wife when his wife Sara could not conceive a child. Sara eventually did conceive and gave birth to Isaac. In the end, Hagar and Ishmael were banished so Isaac could be Abraham's heir.
Jethro, Moses's father-in-law, is traditionally identified as a Midianite priest. The Midianites were descendants of Midian, who was a son of Abraham and Keturah, not Ishmael. While both Ishmael and Midian were descendants of Abraham, they belong to different genealogical lines, so Jethro is not considered a descendant of Ishmael.
Arabs and Jews consider themselves descended from Abraham's sons Ishmael and Isaac respectively. Abraham aggressively kicked his maidservant Hagar and her son Ishmael out of the house in order for his son Isaac (born of his wife Sarah) to have primary attention. Jews and Christians assert that Abraham had a more special relationship with Isaac, taking him up a mountain in an attempt to sacrifice him. Muslims allege the same story, but with Ishmael. So, many claim that Jews and Arabs have a sibling rivalry of sorts coming from this moment. However, both the Bible and Qur'an make it very clear that after the halted sacrifice, Ishmael and Isaac actually spent a good deal of time together and remained on good terms. In fact, Isaac's son Esau married one of Ishmael's daughters.
References to Ishmael in the Bible can be found in the books of Genesis and Galatians. In Genesis, Ishmael is the son of Abraham and Hagar, while in Galatians, he is used as an allegory for the slave woman in contrast to Isaac, who represents the free woman.
because he was the son ok zeus
The Palestinians are descendants of Ishmael, (the son of Hagar & Abram). Being that God had promised Abraham that he would be the father of many nations, God had to keep his covenant by blessing Abraham's seed (Ishmael) though he was not the son promised to Sarah & Abraham. So God promised he would bless Ishmael making him a great nation. (Gen 17: 25 & Gen 25: 12-18). His descendants are considered to be the Arabic People.
Abraham's original sacrifice was his son Isaac(Ishmael to the Islam religion) but God stopped him and so Abraham sacrificed a nearby ram as an offering to God.
Ishmael definitely is from the bible. It means, God hears. Ishmael was the son of Abraham that Hagar, his wife's servant, bore for him. When Abraham and his wife, Sarai, couldn't have children, Sarai gave Hagar to Abraham so that Abraham would at least have a child. Ishmael was the end result. I don't believe that Abah is a name from the bible, but Ahab (not Abah) was one of the most wicked kings of Israel from the Old Testament.
