It would take thousands of years for a jumbo jet to reach the sun, as the sun is about 93 million miles away from Earth. The distance is far beyond the capabilities of any current aircraft. Additionally, the extreme heat and radiation close to the sun would make it impossible for a jumbo jet to survive the journey.

It does depend on the airline yes, but generally they take between 350 and 450 people, although one airline in the far-east apparantly has them configured all economy-class to take over 500 passengers. I wouldn't like to be stuck in the restroom queue on one of those.
