The two cities are located on different islands. Honolulu is on Oahu and Kamuela is on Hawaii. You would need to catch a plane from Kona or Hilo to get to Honolulu. From Kona airport, Honolulu is 163 miles and it will take you about 40 minutes. From Hilo, which is 216 miles away from Honolulu, it will take you 48 minutes.
The distance between Waikiki and Waimea is 165 miles. Waikiki is located on the island of Oahu, while Waimea is on the island of Kona.
Can be grown on any island. Conditions best Kona. Kauai, Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island also have areas which provide all the conditions required. Malokai however, has no areas which provide all of the conditions.
Hawaii produces an excellent coffee marketed as Kona.
Are you looking for something cheaper, or just something different and less touristy? There is a HUGE difference between going to Oahu and staying around Waikiki/Honolulu and going to the big island to someplace like Kona. You goto Oahu for partying, you goto Hawaii for the peace & quiet and postcard views. My favorites aside from Kona are Guam and Majuro atoll in the Marshall Islands, the latter being pretty far out there and very few people getting in the way. Crystal clear water, white sand beaches, and very few people.
About 20-25 minutes, depending whether you are going to Kona or Hilo. ALL flights in Hawaii are short- except the flight getting TO Hawaii!
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) owns the Polynesian Cultural Center in Laie, on Oahu's North Shore. The Polynesian Cultural Center is Hawaii's #1 paid attraction. The Church also owns BYU-Hawaii and the Laie Temple on Oahu, as well as the Kona Temple on the Big Island, although these are generally only visited by Mormons.
kona is a ka'i or a determiner. kona= his/her
I can't imagine why you would want to know this, as the two sites are on two different islands (Hawaii and Oahu), but the total distance from Kailua-Kona to Honolulu, and then from Honolulu to Kaneohe would be approximately 223 miles. Now, if you were just confused by the fact that there is also a Kailua on the island of Oahu, the distance from Kailua, HI to Kaneohe, Hi varies from a little over 5 miles to a little under 7 miles - depending on exact start/stop points.
The air distance from Alexandria, Virginia, to Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii, is 4,835 miles. That equals 7,781 kilometers or 4,202 nautical miles.
Kailua-Kona is approximately 3,030 miles away from the International Date Line. The International Date Line runs along the 180° meridian in the Pacific Ocean, while Kailua-Kona is located on the western coast of the Big Island of Hawaii.
The major starting point for most cruise ships is next to the Aloha Tower in Honolulu on Oahu. Maui, Kauai and the big island of Hawaii (Kona on one side and Hilo on the other) are the major stops.
