What are the differences between Uganda and England?

1. Currency: Uganda uses Shilling whereas England uses Pound Sterling
2. Government: Uganda is a Republic. England is part of a Monarchy (U.K)
3. Schools grading:

• In Uganda lower schools to O'Level, D1&2,C3- 6,P7& 8, F, U (Distinction,Credit, Pass, Fail,Ungraded). A'level; A, B,C...same as England

Language is both a similarity as well as a difference.

In Uganda, they speak about 30 languages but 3 are regarded as main ones

. English - used for administrative purposes and emphasized in grade schools

...about 1,000,000 users from 2002 census.

. Luganda-(NOT Lugandan) Used by almosteveryone. Most common language on the streets of main cities & towns in Central & southern part of the country and accounts for about 80% of conversations in sales and retail, markets, shops, etc....more than 4,000,000 Baganda plus any others from other tribes that speak it. the number could well be above 10 million

.Swahili - Used mainly by Army, Police, Prisons, LDUs(local defence units), and any other trade that deals with guns.....Most locals refer to it as the language of the thieves since many that speak Swahili in Uganda carry guns and its these guns that are used in robberies and theft....far less than English according to est. speakers

Other languages also passed the 'million' mark as in the 2002 census. These included, but not limited to:

• Acholi -1.2million
• Chiga - 1.6million
• Lango - 1.4million
• Masaaba - 1.2million
• Nyankole - 2.5million
• Soga - 2.1million
• Teso - 1.7million

...plus about 15 languages with over 0.5million speakers each....and many others with less than that.

Whereas.....

In England, only English is spoken...but with a variety of accents and slungs.

• England - well...just England
• Gr. Britain - England, Scotland & Wales plusthe small isles
• U.K - United Kingdom of Great Britain + Northern Ireland
