winglet
simply - "winglet"
Winglets is a new feature added to more recent aircraft designs. It requires a special design of the wing and winglet so as to perform properly. You can take an older aircraft and add an end plate that will provide some improvement in wing performance but it will not be equivalent as adding a winglet. The decision to add a winglet involves evaluating the structure and the cost of the design and the impact it will have on fuel use and flight performance.
