Had the same problem with a Pontiac, there is a sensor that connects to the high side line that controls the cut in and cut out pressure, price in Canada was around $55 for mine. You can put this on yourself in about 30 seconds. Screw the new one on and plug it in. its the size of a lipstick tube.
