Yes, on a 1981 Jeep CJ7, there should be a hot wire going to the heater fan near the firewall. This wire typically connects to the fan motor, allowing it to receive power when the heater is activated. If you're troubleshooting, ensure the connection is secure and check for any potential breaks or shorts in the wiring. Always consult the vehicle's wiring diagram for precise details.
It is behind the engine ,in the exhaustpipe, right in front of the firewall. It has one wire coming out of it and connects to a connector in a clip on the firewall, right next to the heater fan motor .
under the hood.blue wire going into the passenger fender from the firewall on passenger side.its got a small clip you unplug
The 2003 Kia dashboard trim is held in place with six retaining clips. Pry outward on each retaining clip. The dashboard trim will come off in two pieces.
It may be the little black box behind the engine, but attached by a clip on the engine and not the firewall. It has evap lines going to it and also a wiring harness.
drain coolant. disconnect heater hoises on the passenger side of the engine side of the firewall. remove the heater core pipe clamp bolt and clamp. from inside car, remove glove box by opening itand squeezing the sides in.remove dash insulating panel. there is an upper and a lower screw holding the core in place that you must remove.remove the evaporator sensor wiring clip from heater core cover. remove heater core cover. remove heater core clamp bolt and clamp then slide out the heater core. installation is the reverse.
The first thing to check is the heater control cable: has it come loose, or broken? On the engine side of the firewall, you will find the heater control valve. It's got heater hoses from the engine running into it, and it's got a lever with a pin sticking out the side of it. Ideally, there should be a cable attached to the pin. There's also a clip to hold the cable's sleeve. If the cable's not hooked up, which I fear is the case, start by going in your car and setting the heat to "high." IIRC the cable will be retracted all the way. If it is, lift the lever all the way up, push the clevis at the end of the cable over the pin, and make sure the cable is locked into the clip. If it's all the way out, push the lever all the way down before you reconnect the cable.
from the firewall forward these cars only differ in their body panles
under the hood, driver's side - attached to the firewall in a tension clip
The clamps could be going bad, or you may have started to crush the tubes on the heater core by overtightening and now they wont stay on. i found out that the clamps are quick release so you squeeze the side of the plastic clip and pull the hose off.
This should be located on the airflow tubing going away from the air filter. It will be held in place by an alligator clip and plug directly into the airflow tubing. It will also be located on the firewall side of the tubing.
drain coolant. disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses of the heater core on the engine side of the firewall. (passenger side). remove heater core pipe clamp-bolt and clamp. from inside, remove the glove box(open it, squeeze sides in then pull ouit, remove hinge screws) for access to the upper core cover screw.below the glove boz, remove the dash insullating panel to access lower screw.remove evaporator temp sensor wiring clip from heater core cover if equipped with A/C. remove heater core cover, clamp bolt and clamp then slide out heater core. install is reverse.
Disconnect the negative battery cable.Drain the cooling system into a clean container for reuse.Remove the air cleaner and duct assembly.Remove the wiper linkage.Remove the heater hoses from the heater core.Remove the lower center console.Remove both instrument panel insulators.Remove the heater outlet module screws.Remove the heater cover.Remove the heater core mounting clip and line clamp screws.Remove the heater core.Install the heater core.Install the heater core mounting clip and line clamp screws.Install the heater cover.Install the heater outlet module screws.Install both instrument panel insulators.Install the lower center console.Install the heater hoses from the heater core.Install the wiper linkage.Install the air cleaner and duct assembly.Refill the cooling system.Connect the negative battery cable.Run the engine to normal operating temperatures; then, check the climate control operation and check for leaks.
