Those are right-hand threads.
You will need a harmonic balancer puller. Remove crankshaft bolt and washer, reinstall bolt without the washer approximately 10 turns. This will protect the threads in the crankshaft. Install puller and remove balancer. You cannot remove the balancer without this puller. They are inexpensive or try to borrow one.
The threads on a Pontiac Transport harmonic balancer are typically left-handed. This means that the bolt used to secure the harmonic balancer is tightened by turning it counterclockwise. It's important to verify specific model details, as variations may exist, but left-handed threads are common for this application.
Right
no, threads are right handed.
Right handed.
Standard.
To fix messed up threads on a harmonic balancer, you can use a thread repair kit, such as a Helicoil, which allows you to insert a new threaded insert into the damaged area. First, drill out the damaged threads to the appropriate size, then tap the hole to accommodate the insert. Finally, screw in the Helicoil insert with the provided tool and ensure it's secure. If the damage is too severe, consider replacing the harmonic balancer entirely.
They are right handed. Turn counter clockwise to loosen.
Remove the big center bolt that holds the harmonic balancer in place. If you have a complete hub puller assembly, it should screw into threaded holes. You'll need to work something out to protect the crankshaft threads when you tighten down the puller, just be aware that you don't want to destroy the crankshaft by messing up the threads. Tighten the puller and it should remove the harmonic balancer for you.
Judging by the video of someone using the starter to break the bolt loose the threads are regular right handed threads
They are standard right hand threads.
Pull the belts, remove the center retaining bolt then use a harmonic balancer puller to remove the pulley. Make sure you use a disk that will protect the threads of the cranshaft when you tighten the puller.
