I tried to put one on my 2008 ranger but it did not work it just bogged down
they stems from the intake manafold then run in several places

On my 1993 Ranger, 2.3L, it is a bolt between the two front wheels underneth the engine. Should be pretty easy to spot. The oil filter is on the drivers side of the engine, towards the bottom. Also easy to spot.
Take it to jasper they rebuild any motor.

More than likely it has jumped time. This is a comman problem with older timing belts. Or in colder weather.
