There is no speedo cable on a Sunfire.
Are you really asking about the speedometer, or are you asking about the cable? It's hard for me to believe that you don't know where your speedo is.
Yes if you don't disconnect your driveline
i have a 2004 Pontiac sunfire, my guages started acting crazy too. My speedometer didnt work at all, my rpm guage was way off, and my fuel guage always read something different. Usually when multiple guages go out at once, its your guage cluster. If that's what it is, that's a dealership only part.
if it has ets its a thumb switch on the shifter if it is displayed on the cluster its off if not it's on or not equiped
To change the instrument cluster on a 2004 Pontiac Sunfire, first disconnect the negative battery cable to ensure safety. Remove the trim panel surrounding the dashboard using a flathead screwdriver or a trim removal tool, then unscrew the screws holding the cluster in place. Carefully pull the cluster out, disconnect the wiring harness, and replace it with the new cluster. Reassemble everything by reconnecting the wiring, securing the cluster, and reinstalling the trim panel.
If you mean the one of the gages like fuel or temp, they're in a cluster that has a circuit board for all of the instrument panel and you have to replace the whole cluster.
what does it look like?
I'm not positive here, as I don't have my Haynes manual at hand, but I think the speedo is cable driven from the transmission.
where is the starter located on 2005 pontiac sunfire
