No expert but it sounds like it could be a fuel restriction while under power. Perhaps it's time for a new fuel filter.
recheck wires to plugs sounds like two are crossed
Have you changed the fuel filter?
Might be time for a tune up, new plugs, fuel filter, pcv valve, cap and rotor and wires if aplicable.
It is feeling silly and my other answer is it is behaving badly
Check/replace Rotor Check for spark at plugs
Plugs, wires, rotor, distributor cap, air filter, oil and filter, check radiator level, tire pressure. That is about it.
try the moduel
Plugs, wires, cap, rotor, air filter, pcv valve.
there are many reasons, but the easiest to eliminate would be plugs, wires, cap, rotor and coil. after those it could even be a computer problem.
could be distributor cap or rotor
check cap and rotor..... check valve clearance "cold"
When I tuned up my 99. I changed, plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor and ignition coil. To my knowledge that is about all you can do. I would by the cap and rotor from the dealer. I made the mistake of not doing that and had problems with the aftermarket cap and rotor getting corroded.
