Use the circular key, once inserted into tailgate, turn key to the left of right to make window go up and down..
To remove the window in the rear hatch of a 1989 Ford Bronco, the weather stripping around the window will have to be pulled back or pushed down slightly. This can be accomplished with a straight screwdriver or a putty knife.
I have a 91 bronco and I've had problems myself with the rear window. First check the fuse panel to see if the fuse for the rear window is blown. I believe its a 20 amp. Also if the interior switch and the key switch on the tailgate both dont work, try pushing in on the tailgate while trying to move the window down or up
this is the biggest pain i ever had to do when i had my bronco... but its simple, just take the plate off of the inside of the tailgate (tailgate could be up or down, down is easier), find the motor, unplug it and remove the couple bolts that are holding it in. careful not to cut yourself there isn't much room to work. the hardest part is getting it back in. good luck!
You need to first swing the spare tire out of the way, roll the window all the way down then just lift the handle that is on the inside.
Turning the window crank in a counter clockwise direction, the window will go down, reverse direction to raise it. If you are speaking of the rear window the switch is on the a/c control panel. Down makes the window go down and up is up
its locked while window is down.
take it to a transmission shop
break it
you have to roll the window down and opend it from the inside. You are not supposed to opend it with the window up because it could break.
As far as I know there is no way to get the window down other than removing the motor itself. The motor is what holds the window up when closed. Make sure its the motor that has failed. There is also a switch located on the drivers side latch inside the gate that is designed to not allow the window to open when the gate is down. If that switch fails it the window motor will not function at all. I used a wire jumper to bypass the switch and solved my problem.
If you go into the back, there's a panel that has around 10 or so screws. You remove the panel. If you look, there's I think 4 nuts that hold the window to the mechanism that rolls the window up & down. The mechanism will flex a little. Once you get the 4 nuts off, pull the mecanism away from the window. Be carefull though so the window doesn't slam down. Just get it down far enough to open the tailgaate, but you may want to support the window once the tailgate is down. I used a bar stool with a towel on top. Hope this helps!!
