you should change those every 100000 miles. but if it feels sick its a good idea
If your mark VIII has 8 coil packs, then ur loking at the wrong thing. It has 4 coil packs. each one actually fires 2 cylinders at once ..only one of them is actually in the correct position at any one time.
On a 1986 Lincoln town car, the ignition starter switch is located near the bottom of the steering column. It has a rod going into it that operates it from the key lock assembly.Ê
What exactly is going on with the car that is making you believe that the ignition module is bad to begin with? Does it not turn over, no power, are there any lights that come on the dashboard? What kind of key is used in this car? Does it have a "chip" in the key?
My 1995 Ford Explorer has also done that occasionally ( although I have removed the ignition key as soon as I open the drivers door , the key in ignition chime starts " going " ) What I do is put the ignition key back in and then remove it again and the chime will stop Give that a try
Then ignition of the fuel/air mixture in the cylinders will cease, and you won't be going anywhere.
This is the sensor that determines if the ignition is going to set off right. If something is going wrong, it will not work correctly.
Did you check are replace the ignition MODULE in the distributor. If you remove the distributor cap and the rotor you will see it on the right side of the dist. plate . It will have elsctrical connectors going to it. That does control spark and fuel pump too.
I'm assuming no start? The vehicle needs spark & fuel to run so check for both. Start by going back through the ignition system if you have no spark. Ignition modules are a common area of failure If no fuel getting to engine go back through the fuel system to see. Listen to hear the fuel pump prime (turn key but don't crank and pump should make noise). If it runs check that fuel is getting to the engine.
no
because southerners thought Abraham Lincoln was going to remove slavery
you have to go under the dash and take out the steering column. and the ignition switch should have a wire going down to the bottom of the column coming from the ignition lock.
