1. purchase a set of "easy-out" threaded bolts. These have the thread in reverse, so that as you tighten the easyout, it turns the bolt out.
2. drill a hole in the center of the stud, no larger the 1/2 the diameter of the stud.
3. insert the proper size of easy-out bolt
4. use a wrench to tighen easy-out and remove bolt.
Note: It is always a good idea to spray the stud with wd40 or loosen-all to help release the stud from its housing.

Its a PIA to remove the broken off portion, but you don't have to take the manifold off to do it. Go to www.thread-saver.com for a new tool to remove the broken part. if it breaks off you can get the threads out with a small punch and then use wet dry vac. to remove small parts in hole. you can just buy the threaded part and use hose clamp to connect after you cut off the end of hose that is crimped it has a small lock ring that will also go bad or crack not a great design by chev. do it yourself in 10 min or so
