coolant by pass hose needs repaced under intake manifold to water 1996 Lincoln Town Car
Should be located on the passenger side front corner of intake manifold, but I would replace the thermostat first.
If you do it yourself, about 300 in parts including the updated manifold. If you take it to a shop, anywhere between 900 to 1100.
Probably the one that is leaking. The metal tube that runs front to back under the intake manifold is known to rust out and leak coolant out the upper back end of the engine. The intake manifold must be removed to replace that tube.
In the intake manifold, at the firewall,
It Is caused from The heater Hose Located Under The Intake Manifold ..In Order To repair It You have To remove the Intake Manifold.....
The intake manifold is on the top center of the engine. The exhaust manifolds are on the front and rear of the engine.
They are under the plastic upper intake manifold.
THE CAUSE COULD BE A STUCK THERMOSTAT , OR A BLOWN HEAD GASKET, OR A LEAK IN THE INTAKE MANIFOLD OR INTAKE MANIFLOD GASKET. A CRACK IN THE INTAKE MANIFOLD IS VERY COMMON.. NORTY
This is a fun one. At the back of the intake manifold there is about a 6" gap between the manifold and the firewall. The PCV is back there at the base of the manifold, which is about 10" down.
The reason a Lincoln Town Car might not start after the intake manifold was replaced could be that the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor was not installed properly after the manifold was replaced. The computer might also need to be reset.
On a 1989 Lincoln Town Car , 5.0 L / 302 cubic inch V8 engine : Follow the TOP radiator hose from the radiator to the front of the engine intake manifold . The engine coolant thermostat is located in the front of the intake manifold
It is in the rear exhaust manifold, under the wiper cowl.
