You have to unplug the distributor advance wire, it's a tan or brown colored wire, set to 0 (or up to about 8 advance) then reconnect the wire.
You would need to carry over the entire harness including computer from the TBI engine.

When upgrading your General Motor tbi motor you are upgrading more than just one wire. To upgrade a motor it usually requires changing out the whole motor and not just one wire.
In a 91 it is behind (and under) the glove box under the ECM far right single clip holding it in place.. single 3 wire harness goes to it.
A tan/white wire goes from the sending unit to the fuel gauge typically on a (example) 1985 Chevrolet Silverado 305 tbi.
It could be the coil, But I would say its the ingnetion module in the distributor.
