You have to replace the headlight on the 89 probe not the bulb. There are four screws that secure the headlight. I turned my headlights on and unhooked the battery so I could replace it while it was in the up position. For standard replacement bulbs I suggest buying them at Wal-Mart. They are about half the price you would pay at an auto parts store.
yes
No you do not need to use bulb grease but for 89 cents at your local auto shop its good to use it just like battery terminal grease its good to use projects your connection from corrosion
To change the headlight bulb on a 1989 Chevy Celebrity reach down in behind the composite headlight fixture and disconnect the appropriate wire plug then give the bulb a counter clockwise twist, and pull it out. Reverse the process to install a new bulb.
I assume you are asking because you want to replace the bulb, so the answer that follows is to disassemble the headlight and reassemble it with a new bulb. 1. Remove the headlamp door attaching screws and remove the headlamp door. 2. Remove the headlight retaining ring screws and remove the retaining ring. DO NOT disturb the headlight adjustment screw settings. 3. Pull the headlight bulb forward and disconnect the wiring assembly plug from the bulb. 4. Connect the wiring assembly plug to the new bulb. Place the bulb in position, making sure the locating tabs of the bulb are fitted in the positioning slots. 5. Install the headlight retaining ring. 6. Place the headlight trim ring or door into position and install the retaining ring screws. This is quoted from Chilton's repair manual for the 1983-1994 Ford Ranger, Bronco II, and Explorer. I followed these directions and was able to replace the bulbs on my 89 Ranger. Good Luck!
Before you begin: DO NOT TOUCH THE NEW BULB WITH YOUR FINGERS!! Open the hood. In the back of the headlight assembly, there is a boot with a wiring harness attached to the back of the assembly. Twist the boot assembly until it pops out (there is a three-pronged tab holding it in). Pull the bulb-in-boot assembly out of the headlight housing. Pull the old headlight bulb out. Plug the new bulb in, referring to the aforementioned warning about not touching it (the oils in your fingers will damage your new bulb). Line the three tabs with the slots in the housing and twist it tight. By the way; Dontcha just love your 89 SEC? There's an SEC club on the internet. Check it out.
most likely it is a fuse

If you have an 89-96 Katana, you can usually reach up under the main body fairing, behind the headlight. There is a rubber boot on the back of the headlight reflector (the glass headlight casing). If you pry off the rubber boot, the bulb will come with it. You should be able to swap the bulb with a good one and wiggle the boot back in place. If you have large hands or this seems too hard to do in a cramped space, you will want to remove your fairings.
I had this problem what you need to do is remove the half shaft to get this out because there is no room to get it past this point. Sorry for the bad news.
89 to 93 just worked on one.
no, the 89-92 engine/transmissions are different from the 93-97 ford probe.
