There are 2 adjusting screws new the metal air intake body. The Phillips is mounted by the dual cables for the throttle and and if for adjusting the intrenal butterfly ONLY - DO NOT TURN IT!!
The IDLE speed is adjusted by the slotted screw (uses a straight screw-driver)- NOT Phillips head screw on the air intake housing. This screw in in the metal body of the air intake. I asked a local deal service dept and got great advice: Turn it clock wise until you hear the idle speed slow, check the RPM's.. should be appox 900rpm. Turn the screw 1/4 turn at a time - WAIT 30 secs for the onboard computer to adjust... still too fast? Give it another 1/4 turn until you get the idle rpm to appox 900rpm.
it MAY run a little rough on cold starts after this adjustment: IF So turn it back COUNTER_clock wise and 1/8 of a turn at a time to 'tweak" the cold start. I did it after a few days of trail & error..
good luck!

on top of the upper intake there is a screw. it can be used to adjust idle speed.
To adjust the engine idle on a 1990 Mazda Miata with a 1.6 engine, locate the idle adjustment screw on the throttle body. Start the engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Then, use a screwdriver to turn the idle adjustment screw clockwise to increase the idle speed or counterclockwise to decrease it, aiming for an idle speed of around 850 RPM. Always double-check the idle speed with a tachometer after making adjustments.
Turn the Idle Adjusting screw.
At the rear of the engine on the left hand side there is an (AAV) auxiliary air valve. In front of this is a bolt sticking out. This is the idle setting bolt. Idle rpm should be 750 rpm.
Computer controlled? Not adjustable
There should be an idle screw right by or under your throttle
To adjust the idle speed on a 1990 Mitsubishi Pajero V6, locate the idle speed adjustment screw on the throttle body. Start the engine and allow it to reach operating temperature. Using a screwdriver, turn the screw clockwise to increase idle speed or counterclockwise to decrease it, while monitoring the RPM with a tachometer. Make small adjustments and ensure the engine is running smoothly before finalizing the setting.
To adjust the idle on Mazda 929 from 1992-1995.......on the top side off throttle body there is a idle air screw, turn screw cloclwise to reduce RPM. Question...is idle always high when hot or cold?
To adjust the idle on a Mazda RX-8, first make sure the engine is at operating temperature. Then, locate the idle air control (IAC) valve, which is typically found near the throttle body. You can adjust the idle speed by turning the IAC valve screw or, in some cases, reprogramming the ECU if the idle is significantly off. Always refer to the vehicle's service manual for specific instructions and settings to ensure proper adjustments.
All Ford vehicles cannot adjust idle nor timing wich is pre-set at the factory and the computer sets the idle and timing, vehicles after 1990 no longer can be adjusted.
It is not adjustable, and is sealed from the factory and is not to be fulled with. You have another problem that is making you think idle needs adjusted.
To adjust the idle on a 1981 Mazda RX-7 with a 12A engine, locate the idle adjustment screw on the carburetor. Start the engine and let it warm up to normal operating temperature. With the engine running, turn the idle adjustment screw clockwise to increase idle speed or counterclockwise to decrease it, aiming for a target idle speed of around 800-900 RPM. Finally, check the idle quality and make minor adjustments as necessary.
