Difficult job to do in your driveway. The original hinges are welded in place both on the door and the cab pillar. The welds have to be drilled out and the new hinges are bolted in. The alignment is critical. The upper hinge halfs on the body side require removal of the dash assembly. There are kits available to rebuild your old hinges while in place. The kit comes with new pins and bushings. Either way you will need a door spring compressor to remove and replace the door spring. This tool is inexpensive and can be purchased from your local auto parts store for under $20.

To remove the door of a 1998 S10, start by disconnecting the battery to prevent any electrical issues. Next, remove the door panel by taking off screws and clips, then disconnect any wiring harnesses. Support the door with a jack or have a helper hold it, then remove the hinges by unscrewing the bolts. Finally, lift the door off the hinges and set it aside.
You can adjust the striker pin on the door post with a torx socket. Also, if there is too much slop in the door hinges that can cause problems. The hinges can be repaired with door hinge pin and bushing kits from your local auto parts store.
Because the hinges are welded in place, replacing the hinge pins and bushings should restore the door back to original position.
BIG JOB! The welds have to be drilled out to remove the original hinges. The door side hinge half can be installed thru the inside of the door by removing the door panel. The post side hinge halfs are very difficult. The entire dash assembly needs to be removed to gain access to the upper hinge half.
how to change front shocks in 01 Chevy s10
that's easy i had the same problem i got it from home depot, you can also get it from Rona, Canadian tire or home hardware the price is actually not that bad too Replacing both halfs of the door hinges on that 90 S10 is a big pain in butt job. Consider purchasing pin and bushing kits and restore your present hinges on the vehicle. Pin and bushing kits are available at your local auto parts store.
free and you can do it yourself!!!! get a socket or 2x4 and open the door, place it in the hinge and pull the door closed on it to bend the hinges back, you'll have to experiment to get it right.
