To change the lock barrel on a 2002 Fiesta van tailgate, first, open the tailgate and remove any plastic trim or covers that conceal the lock mechanism. Next, locate the retaining screws or clips holding the lock barrel in place and remove them. Once the old barrel is free, insert the new lock barrel into the mechanism and secure it with the screws or clips. Finally, reassemble any trim pieces and test the lock to ensure it functions properly.

To change the hatchback lock on a 2007 Vibe, start by removing the interior trim panel of the hatch door to access the lock mechanism. Disconnect the wiring harness and remove the screws holding the lock in place. Replace the old lock with a new one, reattach the wiring, and secure the trim panel back in place. Ensure everything is functioning properly before closing the hatch.
Pay your bills and it will never have a barrel put on it!
To replace lock cylinder in the hatch ,first inside hatch panel must be removed. After removing the panel you will have access to the lock cylinder. Remove the linkage to the cylinder and pull the retaining clip from the cylinder and the lock can be removed from the outside of the latch. This is not a hard job to do , 1 hour max if your slow .
I assume you are referring to the lock barrel... Remove the inside trim panel from the door Reach inside the door and find the back of the door lock barrel, you will feel a metal clip on the opposite side of the barrel to the edge of the door (ie. on the windscreen side of the lock). Simply pull the clip towards the windscreen until it comes off (you will have to pull fairly hard), then you can withdraw the lock from the outside of the car. To put it back, slip the lock back through the door from outside, then slide the spring clip back to hold the barrel in place.
