First pull the fuse to the air bags then remove the rubber cover on the stearing wheel. You will then see 4 to 6 bolts to remove the air bag and the air bag mounting bracket. After removing the bolts you will then need to unclip the air bag connector and then you will be able to remove the airbag. Then you will see a nut on the stearing will shaft, remove it and then you will need a wheel-puller to remove the stearing wheel due to the fact that it is pressed on. How do you remove steering wheel on 2001 Trans Am?

To remove the steering wheel on a 2001 Trans Am, first disconnect the battery to avoid any electrical issues. Next, remove the airbag by unscrewing the retaining bolts on the back of the steering wheel and carefully disconnecting the airbag connector. Once the airbag is removed, use a steering wheel puller to loosen the steering wheel by removing the center nut and pulling the wheel off the steering column. Make sure to note the alignment for reinstallation.
