To check the Transmission Fluid on a 2002 Corvette, first ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and the engine is running at operating temperature. Locate the transmission dipstick, usually found near the back of the engine bay, and remove it. Wipe it clean, reinsert it fully, then remove it again to check the fluid level; it should be within the marked range. If necessary, add the appropriate type of transmission fluid through the dipstick tube until the correct level is reached.
There is no dipstick for the trans.
Idling in park, pull the trans dipstick and check the level.
Is your Alero a 2.4, a 2.2 ecotec or a 3400?
No but the car should be at normat operatin temp
it doesnt have adip stick it has a bolt in the side of trans better take to dealer
No dipstick on the manual trans. You have to remove a plug at the midpoint on the side of the case to check fluid.
you can't it is a sealed unit. will never have another vehicle with a sealed trans. only way is to have it serviced.
You actually can check the trans...its just not all that easy. On the bottom of the trans pan theres a bolt. Undo the bolt and squirt ATF fluid into the hole until it starts to flow out ( its kind like an upside down funel). Your tans is then full
Dextron III or IV
It should be in the owners manuyal. If you don't have one, try MOTORLIT.COM I have a 2002 Cavalier w/ the 2.2 and there is no way to check the trans fluid. There is a cap on the trans that screws of but no dip stick. When the trans starts feeling like it's not shifting the way it should, I put in a half quart and it seems to work.
There isn't an egr valve on an 02 Trans Am. The engine received upgrades from the Corvette that year that allowed for the egr valve to be deleted from the design.
